SEWANEE, Tenn. –
Rivers Carney tallied her first career goal and
Sonia Djurasovic added another as the Sewanee women's soccer team defeated Oglethorpe, 2-0, on Senior Night Friday evening at Puett Field.
After being subbed into the match in the second half, Carney made an immediate impact. Just a minute later,

In the 77th minute, Sewanee doubled its advantage.
Lacey Carder found Djurasovic, who delivered a long ball into the box that slipped past the goalkeeper and into the left corner of the net, securing the 2-0 final.
The Tigers (9-1-3, 3-0-2) controlled play throughout the match, outshooting the Petrels 23-3 and holding an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Sewanee nearly broke through in the fourth minute, as a corner from
Stella Martin found the head of Djurasovic, but her header struck the crossbar.
Kylene Monaghan had another look in the 22nd minute, but her attempt was blocked to keep the game scoreless at the half.
Goalkeeper
Avery Kievit made three saves in the shutout for the Tigers, while Oglethorpe's Katherine Crim finished with 10 stops.
The Tigers return to the Pit to face Berry on Sunday at 1 PM.
