SEWANEE, Tenn. – Southwestern University scored twice in the first half and added three more goals in the second period, as the 14
th-ranked Pirates posted a 5-0 victory over Sewanee in men's soccer action Saturday in Georgetown, Texas.
Greyson Pinto scored on an assist from Nico Colegrove in the 14
th minute for Southwestern and it stayed that way until the 40
th minute when Raghav Sharma found the back of the net on assists from Grey Richards and Lucas Marino.
Pinto scored again in the 55
th minute, this one from Colegrove and Cooper Pero, and Richards poked in a goal in the 62
nd minute off the hands of Sewanee goalkeeper
Nathan Vanhoeve, with Landon Guenther providing the assist. Guenther collected the final goal for the Pirates in the 79
th minute on assists from Quinn MacLeod and Danny Wasserman.
Southwestern recorded a 22-7 advantage in shots, 11 in each period. Vanhoeve registered five saves and allowed four goals for Sewanee, which hosts sixth-ranked Trinity University next Saturday at 6 p.m.
