Tyler Cozzie and
Grayson White each scored in the second half, helping Sewanee to a 2-2 draw against Belhaven University in men's soccer action Saturday in Birmingham, Ala.
The Tigers (1-4-3) outshot the Blazers, 18-13, including 9-5 in shots on goal, though many of those attempts came at the top of the 18-yard box or just outside.
The Blazers (3-1-3) posted the only goal in the opening 45 minutes, with Wyatt Dupre finding the back of the net in the 38
th minute. Wesley Bloodworth's score in the 50
th minute put Belhaven ahead, 2-0, but the Tigers came storming back in the next eight minutes.
Cozzie collected his team-best third goal of the year less than a minute after Bloodworth's tally. White netted the equalizer in the 58
th minute for his first career goal for the Tigers.
Sam Harwell registered three saves for Sewanee while Belhaven goalkeeper Danny Bahena collected five saves for the Blazers.
The Tigers opens SAA action next Saturday at home against Berry College at 6:30 p.m. at Puett Field.
