BeVier's last second goal lifts Sewanee to 1-0 victory over Roanoke

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Natalie BeVier's last-second goal lifted the Tigers to a 1-0 victory over Roanoke on Sunday afternoon at home.

With the clock ticking down, Sewanee was awarded a penalty corner for one final chance in regulation. BeVier inserted the ball to Cate Crane, whose shot from the top of the circle was tipped in by BeVier, sealing Sewanee's first home win of the season. BeVier collected her first collegiate goal. 

The Tigers outshot the Maroons 16-5, with 12 shots on goal compared to Roanoke's three. Sewanee's defense also limited Roanoke's chances on seven penalty corners.

Sewanee goalkeeper Claire Damare made three saves, while Roanoke's Madison Wingerter tallied 10 saves in the loss.
