SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sophomore
Lane Gamble qualified for the finals in the 400-meters and freshman
Jimmy Holmes just missed qualifying in the same event for Sewanee men's track Friday at the SAA Championships in Conway, Ark.
Gamble posted a qualifying time of 51.88 in the 400 while Holmes crossed the line in 52.53, missing qualifying for the finals by 4/100
th of a second. Junior
Jenkins Darbney did not qualify in the 200-meters after registering a time of 24.84.
In the throwing events on Friday, sophomore
Lukus White placed 13
th in the shot put with a mark of 36-feet while sophomore
Brayden Owens and sophomore
Gavin Potter finished 19
th and 20
th respectively, with marks of 33-2.5 and 31-2.5. Potter was also 14
th in the hammer throw with a mark of 113-5.
Running and throwing events begin at 9 a.m. CT on the second and final day of the championships on Saturday.
