SEWANEE, Tenn. – Emma Burns collected eight points, Sally Herrington recorded seven, and Elizabeth Muller posted four, as the Tiger's strong second half sent them past the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels in the quarterfinals of the SAA Women's Lacrosse tournament in Memphis, Tenn. on Friday afternoon.

The Tigers held the Petrels to just two goals and five shots in the second half. Sewanee outshot Oglethorpe 26 to 5 in the second half and 44 to 20 in the game.

Sewanee came strong out of the first half allowing Oglethorpe only one shot and keeping them scoreless while talling six of their own in the third quarter.

Burns collected a free position shot for her 60th goal of the season just 47 seconds in. The second draw-control win of the period, from Dillard, gave the Tigers the ball and Herrington tacked on another goal with an assist from Burns just 54 seconds later.

A ground ball from Burns led to another Sewanee goal, this time from Elizabeth Muller. A caused turnover and ground ball from Ella Townsend led to Sewanee possession, as Herrington connected on her fourth goal of the game with an assist from Brooke Sigmon

Burns found Herrington again, as the Tigers took advantage of another man-up opportunity off a caused turnover from Herrington and a ground ball from Morgan Boylan

A caused turnover from Izzo Palmer led to A goal from Boylan with an assist from Muller with 4:27 left in the third.

Burns collected two more points to start the fourth, tacking on a goal for a 12-6 lead and connecting with Muller just under a minute later for another Sewanee goal. A draw-control win from Oglethorpe led to their first goal of the second half.

Herrington recorded another goal, this time with an assist from Muller with 8:46 left in the game. Emma Burns tacked on Sewanee's 15th goal of the day and her 42nd of the season. With 1:52 remaining in the game, Herrington collected Sewanee's last goal of the game off an assist from Sigmon.

Oglethorpe connected on a last-second goal with 31 seconds remaining of a free position shot, but the Tiger's second-half push was too much for the Petrels as they move onto the Semifinals of the SAA Tournament with a 16-8 win over Oglethorpe.

The Tigers tallied three goals in the first quarter and kept the Petrels scoreless. Herrington tallied the first goal of the game for her 60th of the season off a free position shot. With 5:28 on the clock, Sigmon found the back of the net for Sewanee. Just under two minutes later, Herrington tacked on her second goal of the game with an assist from Raleigh Cooper
