Wrenna Morris won the pole vault, sophomore
Sam Ude placed second in the 1500-meters and sophomore
Cydney Wright placed third in the shot put and javelin for Sewanee track and field Saturday at the 2
nd Annual Scots Invitational in Maryville, Tenn.
Morris cleared 9-feet, 0.25-inches for first place in the pole vault while Wright was third in the shot put (36-10.75) and javelin (81-9). Junior
Kamilla Haidaienko and sophomore
Emma Howlett finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in the shot put with marks of 33-1.75 and 31-6.75 while Howlett and Wright placed fifth and sixth in the discus with marks of 97-6 and 94-8.
In the men's field events, sophomore
Lukus White finished fifth in the shot put with a mark of 38-0.5 and sophomore
Brayden Owens was eighth in the discus with a mark of 103-6 and ninth in the shot put (33-5.25).
Ude paced the Tigers in the running events with her second-place showing in a time of 5:16.86.
Freshman
Abigail Armstrong and senior
Maya Quick placed fifth and eighth, respectively in the 400-meters with times of 1:06.94 and 1:08.47 while junior
Lou Bullock and freshman
Page Wells finished fifth and sixth in the 800-meters in 2:30.14 and 2:33.84. Junior
Jocelyn Covaney was sixth in the 200-meters in 29.77.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Bullock, Wells, Covaney and Morris posted a time of 4:24.06 while the group of freshman
Louise Highfield, Armstrong, Ude and sophomore
Kimberly Mackrella finished in 4:40.17.
For the men, sophomore
Lane Gamble and freshman
Jimmy Holmes placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 400 in 52.08 and 52.46 while the 4x400-meter squad of sophomore
Brandon Christ, Gamble, Holmes and junior
Jenkins Darbney posted a time of 3:37.43.
Sewanee will host the Mountain Laurel Invitational next Saturday.
