Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Tigers top Vikings on the road

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Zach Crain recorded a hat trick and Will Kennedy collected the game-winning goal as the Tigers defeated Berry in men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon in Rome, Ga. 

A Berry turnover led to the Tigers' first goal from Devon Root with an assist from Charles Moran. Berry tied the score at one all with 4:09 left in the period. 

Crain tallied a last-minute goal to give the Tigers the lead going into the second with two seconds on the clock. 

Crain collected Sewanee's third goal as the Tigers won possession off a caused turnover and ground ball from Jack Selner

However, the Vikings registered three unanswered goals to end the second and go into half-time up 4-3. Berry continued their streak, collecting two more unanswered goals to open the third period. 

Niko Maheras tallied a man-down goal to start chipping at Berry's lead with an assist from Root. 

JM DuPree got the Tigers within one with 2:39 left in the third period off an assist from Will Kennedy

Drew Perun won the faceoff to start the final period to give the Tigers the ball and Crain was able to connect to tie the score at six all with an assist from Moran. 

Phelps Thomas gave the Tigers the lead with 11:54 left to play. 

With 6:55 on the clock, Berry tied the score at seven all. 

Kennedy collected his first career goal, for the win, with an assist from Maheras. The Tigers' win over Berry moves them to 3-0 in the conference. 

Perun went 13-of-19 from the x, and picked up three ground balls. Alec Jazaeri led the Tigers with three caused turnovers and three ground balls and Jack Selner followed with two of each as well. Five other Tigers registered a caused turnover. 

Sewanee will host their last home games against Hendrix and Rhodes on Friday and Sunday next weekend. The Tigers will celebrate their seniors against Rhodes on Sunday at Noon.
