Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee swept the doubles point, two matches in tiebreakers, and posted four singles wins in straight sets in the 16
th-ranked Tigers' 8-1 victory over 12th-ranked Wallace State-Hanceville in men's tennis action Saturday at the Bruton-Guerry Tennis Center.
Andre-Remi Jakobi and
Liam Baer defeated Kye Bennett and Jace Moody, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles to open the match.
Liam Selvido and
George Thomas Alexander won in a tiebreaker at No. 2, 8-6, over Ferran Bonastre and Pablo Ruben before
Max Gallivan and
Jax Harbour outlasted Juan Amor and Jose Munoz, 8-4, in a tiebreaker at No. 3.
In singles Baer collected a 6-1, 6-4, decision at No. 5 versus Brett Foster and Harbour's 6-3, 6-3, victory at No. 3 against Munoz clinched the victory for Sewanee.
Selvido defeated Ruben, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 4 before Alexander registered a 6-3, 6-3, win at No. 2 over Bonastre.
Sam Higgins recorded the only point of the match for Wallace State with a 6-4, 6-4, victory at No. 6 versus
Ryan Stafford. Jakobi closed out the match, winning a super-tiebreaker against Bennett at No. 1, 6-3, 5-7, 10-8.
