Sam Ude finished second in the 3000-meter steeplechase, junior
Jocelyn Covaney placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles and senior
Drew Noblet was sixth in the javelin for Sewanee track and field this weekend at the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn.
Lawrence Tech's Hanna Assenmacher won the steeplechase but Ude was second in a personal-best 12:42.28, with her time ranking second in the conference, while Covaney was seventh in the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:13.12.
Noblet finished sixth in the javelin with a mark of 150-feet, 8-inches while junior
Stephen Goetze posted a mark of 119-8. Both marks rank in the Top 10 in the conference.
In other track events for the Tiger women, the 4x100 relay of Covaney, senior
Maya Quick, freshman
Wrenna Morris and sophomore
Kylene Monaghan finished 10
th in 56.70. Freshman
Page Wells posted a time of 1:08.53 and freshman
Abigail Armstrong finished in a time of 1:10.70 in the 400-meters while Monaghan ran 29.11 and Morris posted a time of 30.15 in the 200-meters.
Junior
Lou Bullock completed the 800-meters in 2:32.16 while Josie Wells and
Caroline Winslow posted times of 3:04.50 and 3:08.84, respectively.
In the field events, sophomore
Cydney Wright posted a mark of 32-feet, 3.75-inches in the shot put while sophomore
Emma Howlett registered a mark 31-4.5 and junior
Kamilla Haidaienko netted 30-0. Morris cleared 8-feet, 4-inches in the pole vault.
Howlett tossed the hammer 109-feet, 9-inches and Haidaienko netted 87-11. Wright posted a mark of 96-6 and Howlett collected a distance of 90-9 in the discus.
The men's 4x100-meter relay of freshman
Jimmy Holmes, sophomore
Gavin Stallings, junior
Jenkins Darbney and sophomore
Lane Gamble finished 10
th in 46.55. Gamble posted a time of 53.67 and Holmes finished in 54.72 in the 400-meters while Holmes ran 12.03 in the 100-meters.
Darbney completed the 100-meters in 12.24 and posted a time of 25.68 in the 200 while sophomore
Brandon Christ registered a time of 2:13.73 in the 800-meters. Freshman
Stevie Mack posted a mark of 101-11 and sophomore
Brayden Owens registered a distance of 92-1 in the discus.
Sewanee will participate in the UAB Spring Invitational March 29-30 in Birmingham, Ala.
