SEWANEE, Tenn. – A small number of Sewanee track and field members competed this weekend at the Emory Spring Classic at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga., opening the outdoor track and field season.
Freshman
Jimmy Holmes posted a time of 23.63 in the 200-meters while sophomore
Gavin Stallings posted a time of 24.35. In the 400-meters Holmes crossed the finish line in 53.06 and Stallings in 53.82. Sophomore
Sam Leonard posted a time of 2:04.89 in the 800-meters
Freshman
Stevie Mack recorded a mark of 107-feet, 9.5-inches in the discus and junior
Stephen Goetze collected a mark of 139-feet, 6.5-inches in the javelin.
For the women sophomore
Kylene Monaghan finished the 200 in 28.76 while senior
Maya Quick crossed the finish line in 29.54 and junior Jovelyn Covaney posted a time of 29.78. Quick ran the 100-meters in 13.82, Monaghan completed the 800 in 1:04.18 and Covaney finished the 100-meter hurdles in 17.56. Junior
Caroline Winslow crossed the finish line in the 800 in 3:07.90.
Sophomore
Emma Howlett posted marks of 31-feet, 3-inches in the shot put, 118-feet, 9.75-inches in the hammer throw and 94-feet, 1.25-inches in the discus.
Sewanee competes again next Friday and Saturday at the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, Tenn.
