The Huntsville, Ala., native worked around a one-out single in the first and a walk and a single in the third. The freshman got out of the fourth as well after an error and a single, but she induced a pair of groundouts to end the frame.

The Panthers plated an unearned run in the fifth and got another run in the sixth, but Huskey stranded runners at first and third to end the contest.

Wilson was hit with one out and both runners stole before a great squeeze bunt from Abbie Buckner scored a run. With two outs Giffin drove in another run with a single to rightcenter, extending the Sewanee lead to 5-2.

Katelyn Minnihan singled to left with one out in the sixth for the Panthers and stole second. Huskey made a bad throw to first on Abby Hefner's sacrifice bunt, with the ball sailing into rightfield and Minnihan scoring on the play.
