Tigers roll past Covenant on the road, 118-87

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Graham Smith dominated the boards with a career-high 19 rebounds, and Russ Marr exploded for 35 points to propel Sewanee to a commanding 118-87 victory over Covenant on Wednesday night.

Smith's performance included seven offensive rebounds and 12 defensive boards, along with three assists, while Marr recorded his third consecutive 30-point game, contributing across the stat sheet with three rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals. Luke Avaliani also delivered an impressive showing with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

After Covenant opened with a quick 6-0 run, Sewanee responded with a 12-0 surge to take control. A 21-4 stretch midway through the first half extended the lead to 20, and the Tigers never looked back. By halftime, Sewanee had built a commanding 65-28 advantage, fueled by sharp shooting and relentless defensive pressure.

The second half saw more of the same, with the Tigers extending their lead to as many as 38 points after a layup by Avaliani. Sewanee's offense eclipsed the century mark with 5:54 remaining, thanks to Marr's free throws. Late contributions from Reid Carrier, Eli Holland, and Marr highlighted another 10-0 run to seal the win, despite a late push by Covenant.

Sewanee's balanced attack and relentless energy secured an emphatic victory as they return home with momentum.
