SEWANEE, Tenn. –Natalie BeVier scored a late goal, but the Tigers couldn't overcome a 3-0 deficit as Sewanee fell 3-1 to Rhodes in field hockey action on Sunday afternoon.

The Lynx led the offense with a 21-6 advantage in shots, including 15 on goal, but Sewanee goalkeeper Taylor Klesel recorded seven saves. Defensively, Mimi Wilson and Kennedy Harcourt each made two defensive saves, while Kelly Firesinger added one to help keep Sewanee in the game.

On offense, BeVier, Caroline Bridges, and Catherine Crane combined for two shots on goal each. Rhodes goalkeeper Catherine Gluodenis made four saves, and Sam Ducey contributed a defensive save to hold off the Tigers.

Rhodes scored three unanswered goals before BeVier notched Sewanee's lone goal unassisted at the 48:57 mark.

Sewanee returns to action on Thursday as hosts of the Collegiate Field Hockey Conference tournament.
