White earns Newcomer of the Year as the Tigers place eight on SAA All-Conference Teams

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Freshman Dawson White earned Newcomer of the Year honors as Sewanee placed eight players on the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) All-Conference teams, announced Friday afternoon. 

White, a running back from Lynchburg, Tenn., was named the SAA Newcomer of the Year and earned a spot on the Second-Team All-Conference. In nine games, White tallied six touchdowns, rushing for 490 yards and adding 19 receptions for 165 yards. He also contributed on special teams, returning 10 kickoffs for 180 yards and three punts. White averaged 54.4 rushing yards and 18.3 receiving yards per game.

The Tigers had three players named to the First-Team All-Conference: Dyer Barnes, Kason Holder, and Jack Satterfield

Barnes, a sophomore wide receiver, received his second All-Conference selection after recording 46 receptions for 762 yards and eight touchdowns. He averaged 76.2 receiving yards per game and added seven kickoff returns for 144 yards, averaging 20.6 yards per return. 

Holder, a senior safety, earned his second All-Conference honor with an outstanding defensive season. The McMinnville, Tenn., native totaled 37 solo tackles and 15 assists, with 2.5 sacks for a loss of 16 yards. He also forced two fumbles, broke up seven passes, logged four quarterback hurries, and recorded an interception. Holder added 18 tackles for loss, totaling 51 yards. 

Satterfield, a senior punter, led the Tigers' special teams. The Murfreesboro, Tenn., native punted 50 times for 2,171 yards, averaging 43.4 yards per punt, including 18 punts of 50+ yards and 15 inside the 20-yard line. His longest punt traveled 60 yards. Satterfield also attempted nine kickoffs, averaging 61.8 yards per attempt, and contributed two field goals and four PATs. 

Joining White on the Second-Team All-Conference was senior linebacker Keegan Glaze, who earned his fourth career All-Conference honor. Glaze, a Nashville, Tenn., native posted 40 solo tackles and 32 assists, with 24.5 tackles for loss totaling 83 yards. He also recorded one sack, one pass breakup, and provided consistent leadership on defense. 

Jacorin Thomas, Buck Hardin, and Jaylen Mack received Honorable Mention for their impact. Thomas, a sophomore quarterback threw for 11 touchdowns and ran for five more. Hardin, a junior offensive lineman, played in all 10 games for the Tigers. Mack, a freshman defensive back recorded seven pass breakups, two interceptions, forced two fumbles, and recovered two fumbles while adding 29 solo tackles and 12 assisted tackles.
