Swim and Dive dominate UT Southern at home

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee's swimming and diving teams secured commanding victories over UT Southern on Saturday afternoon. The women triumphed 122-84, while the men earned a decisive 141-61 win.

The men's team notched 10 first-place finishes, starting strong with a win in the 200 medley relay. The team of Andrew Olsen, Naeem Mangum, Josh Kim, and Carter Nabors posted a time of 1:36.87.

Tyler Foster kept the momentum going in the 1000-yard freestyle, taking first place, with Bryson Reid finishing third. In the 200 freestyle, Kim, Henry Lindeman III, and Jackson Pillow claimed second, third, and fourth, respectively.

Andrew Olsen collected two individual wins, finishing first in the 50 freestyle (22.07) and the 100 freestyle (47.78), where Carter Nabors joined him in second place. Mangum also had an impressive meet, earning three victories: the 200 IM, 200 breaststroke (2:19.75), and as part of the 200 medley relay.

Other highlights included Lindeman's win in the 200 butterfly and Foster's victory in the 200 backstroke, with Pillow taking second. The men closed out the meet with a 1-2 finish in the 200 freestyle relay. Lindeman, Pillow, Nabors, and Kim claimed first, while Reid, Whitt Davis, Foster, and Joseph Aidan Ocasio finished second.

On the boards, Elliot Allen took home first place in the 1-meter competition, helping the men's team round out a dominant performance.

The women's team secured seven event wins, starting with Adelina Willett in the 1000-yard freestyle. A sweep in the 200 freestyle followed, with Ella Deitch (2:02.25), Ava Mack, and Eleanor Bishop finishing first, second, and third, respectively.


Natalia Evans claimed victory in the 50 freestyle (25.85), with McKenna Reed finishing third. In the 100 freestyle, Ada Digby earned another first-place finish (56.73), followed by Reed in second.

Deitch capped her day with a win in the 200 breaststroke (2:29.62), leading a 1-2 finish with Bishop. Sophie Yanoshik and Abbie Spera added depth with fourth- and fifth-place finishes.

On the boards, Katie Walker dominated, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions with scores of 214.65 and 221.33, respectively. Lily Stooksbury placed second on the 1-meter board to secure additional points for the Tigers.

Sewanee's balanced team effort highlighted its depth and dominance as the Tigers swept both team titles.
