SEWANEE, Tenn. – Sewanee field hockey celebrated their three seniors before hosting Centre for their last regular season home game, falling 2-0.

Alex Schoener led the Tigers' offense with six shots, five of them on goal, while Catherine Crane added six shots, three on target. Sewanee maintained a strong offensive presence, outshooting Centre 19-7 overall, with 12 shots on target compared to Centre's four.

Centre took an early lead with an unassisted goal just five and a half minutes into the game. Sewanee responded with four shots in the first quarter, but none found the back of the net.

The Tigers opened the second quarter with a penalty corner opportunity but couldn't convert. Sewanee continued to press with two more shots in the period, one on target but saved by the Centre goalkeeper. Taylor Klesel held her ground in goal, making two saves in the second quarter, including one with 15 seconds remaining.

Much like the first half, Sewanee controlled possession in the third quarter and generated eight total shots. Crane led with four attempts, followed closely by Schoener.

Centre extended their lead midway through the final quarter, capitalizing on a penalty corner. Despite additional attempts by Mimi Wilson and Alex Schoener, the Colonels held off the Tigers, securing a 2-0 victory.

Sewanee will head to Memphis to face Rhodes in their regular-season finale next Sunday, November 3. The Tigers will then host the CFHC Tournament, beginning on November 7.
