Tigers defeat Warriors on the road

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Tyler Cozzie converted a penalty kick to lift the Sewanee Tigers to a 1-0 victory over the Hendrix Warriors in Southern Athletic Association men's soccer action on Sunday afternoon in Conway, Ark.

The Tigers were awarded the penalty kick after a foul in the box by Hendrix just over 12 minutes into the second half.

The first half was evenly matched, with the Warriors recording three shots, none on target, while the Tigers managed two shots on frame. Sewanee outshot Hendrix 7-3 in the second half. James Leone made three saves for the Warriors, while Sewanee's Nathan Vanhoeve recorded one save on a single shot.

Cozzie and Alpha Bah led the Tigers with two shots each, while Tyler Scott, Will Pucek, Harper Satterfield, Grayson White, and Luke Manley each added one.

The Tigers return home for their final regular-season conference match against Centre on Saturday, October 26, at 3:30 p.m.
