Theron/Wicklund compete on Day One ITA Cup

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Jordan Theron and Quinn Wicklund competed on the first day of the annual ITA Cup for the Tigers in Mount Berry, Georgia.

Theron and Wicklund earned their doubles spot after claiming a second-place finish at the ITA South Regionals.

They faced Allen Gong and Dylan Blenkiron of Johns Hopkins in the first round, but fell in three sets, 6-7 (2), 6-3, 1-10. Theron and Wicklund dropped a close first set in a tiebreaker but came back to win the second and force a match tiebreaker. However, the Tigers dropped the match tiebreaker and will play in the consolation draw on Friday against Noah Baker and Alexander Stage of Whitman College at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT.
