Tigers battle Concordia Wisconsin until the last second

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Moira Darling scored her first goal of the season as they continued Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play against Concordia Wisconsin (CWU) on Sunday. The Tigers fell 1-2 in the last seconds.

CWU scored in the first quarter from a rebound off a save made by Taylor Klesel. CWU had 9 shots for the game, 5 on goal as the Tigers had 7, 4 on goal. Both goalies had 3 saves.

In the second quarter, the Tigers dominated play as Darling netted the ball off a corner taken by Amelia Clark to get the Tigers on the board to tie the game and held CWU to no shots.

In the second half, both teams had only three shots on goal as play was even. However, with 17 seconds left on the clock, Katie Quirke from CWU found the back of the net to secure the win for the Falcons.

The Tigers return to play on Saturday, Sept. 30 in St. Louis against Maryville before returning to conference play on Wednesday Oct 4 at Centre.
