Field Hockey gets first win in double overtime

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Moira Darling scored all three of Sewanee's goals, the last one in the second overtime, in Sewanee's 3-2 victory Saturday at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Sewanee's first two goals came in the first quarter, as Darling netted her second goal of the season just a minute and 30 seconds into the game. She then scored her second goal nine minutes later off an assist by Addison Cassada

Meredith scored one goal a piece in the second and third quarters. Despite playing down two players the whole game, Sewanee outshot its opponents, 25-10, with 24 on goal. Taylor Klesel made six saves in goal for the Tigers.

"The team played with determination and passion, a true team effort," said head coach Ann Andrews.

The Tigers play again Sunday at Virginia Wesleyan at 1 p.m. ET. They then face Centre at home on October 14 at 10 a.m.
