Tigers Complete Day One of ITA Regional Championships

SEWANEE, Tenn– The Tigers opened day one of the ITA Regional Championships Friday as they host over 150 student-athletes and over 15 teams to compete on the Mountain in four different singles and doubles draws. 

Sewanee had 10 players in the main singles draw, and had six players move on to the second round of the draw. Jordan Theron, the one seed for Sewanee, and Peyton Erck are into the round of 16 as they both had two singles wins for the day. Theron cruised through his first two matches with a 6-2, 6-0 win over LeBlanc from Brevard and a 6-1, 6-1 win over Zhylchuck from North Carolina Wesleyan. Erck played Raymond from Oglethorpe first round as won 6-1, 6-2, and won his second match of the day against Domkowski from Covenant 6-0, 6-4. 

In the main doubles draw, all four of Sewanee's doubles teams won their first-round matches and will play their second round on Saturday.
