Women's soccer records second draw of year against Covenant

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Despite controlling the ball for most of the match and outshooting their opponents 22-5, Sewanee women's soccer played to a nil-nil draw against Covenant on Wednesday night in Lookout Mountain, Ga.

In the first half, the Tigers recorded 10 shots to the Scotts 2 and the second half, again, outshot their opponents 12-3. Briana Fee led the Tigers with 9 shots, 5 on goal, followed by Caroline Pulliam with 4 shots, one on goal, forcing Covenant goalie, Lucy Sandhoff to record a season-high nine saves for the night. 

In goal for the Tigers, Leah Atkins had three saves. The Tigers also registered the only corner kicks in the match, with seven kicks taken by Sewanee in the second half. 

Sewanee takes on Illinois Wesleyan for their home opener on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match and returns on the road next weekend to open conference play against Berry on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. EST.
