TEMPE, Ariz. - Announced on Wednesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the University of the South's
Noah Holsclaw was selected as the ITA's Most Improved Senior in the Atlantic South Region.
Holsclaw earned Second Team All-SAA honors in 2023 and posted a 15-6 overall record in singles play. He also had a 16-6 record in doubles, with a 14-3 mark with partner
Peyton Erck.
During the 2022 campaign, the Marietta, Ga. native recorded a 9-12 mark at the top flight in singles for Sewanee. Playing five 10-game third set tiebreaks during the season, he picked up back-to-back wins against Berry (4-6, 6-1, 17-15) and Oglethorpe (7-5, 3-6, 10-5) en route to a First Team All-SAA honor.
Holsclaw becomes the third since 2016 to earn the region award for Most Improved Senior (Eric Roddy C'16, Jordan Brewer C'20,
Noah Holsclaw C'23).
The national award winners will be announced next Wednesday, June 7.
The University of the South finished the 2023 season with a 21-4 overall record, winning the ninth Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Regular Season and Tournament Championship in program history. The team also finished in the third round at the NCAA Championships.
