DANVILLE, Ky. - The University of the South women's track and field team started competition on Friday at the 2023 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Track and Field Championships from Andy Frye Stadium on the campus of Centre College.

TOP PERFORMERS

Emma Grace Hendrickson scored in the 3,000 steeplechase with an eighth place time of 13:22.71. She also posted a 45:15.05 in the 10,000 meters to start the day.

Jocelyn Covaney advanced to Saturday's final in both the 100 and 400 hurdles. In the 100, she missed her season-best by 0.03 seconds with a seventh-place qualifying time of 17.35 seconds. Later, in the 400, the sophomore set a new season best with a 1:13.58 for eighth place.

Emma Howlett set new personal marks in both the shot put (10.16 meters) and the hammer throw (35.43 meters) on Friday.
