HOW IT HAPPENED
-After back-to-back base knocks for the Majors in the bottom of the second, they cashed those in with a fielder's choice and a base hit. However, with runners at second and third,
Michaela Walker limited the damage with two fly balls.
-Sewanee responded in the next half-inning with a run thanks to an
Eve Bournias double to score
Madilyn Parker, who led off the frame with an infield hit.
-Leading 2-1 in the fourth, the Majors tacked on four runs capped by back-to-back doubles to increase their lead to 6-1.
-For Sewanee, the bats got back to work in the fifth. After three-straight singles, Bournias scored on a fielder's choice, and Walker laced a single up the middle to score
Hannah Wilson.
-Down to their final outs, the Tigers got the bats going. After back-to-back singles by Bournias and
Zoe Crockett, Millsaps changed pitchers. After the change, a wild pitch moved the runners up 60 feet to second and third.
-Wilson made it 6-4 on a sacrifice fly, while Charboneau's RBI hit made it 6-5. After a Walker free pass to put the tying and go-ahead runners on base, the rally ended with a foul out and line out and Millsaps advanced to the winner's bracket.
