CONWAY, Ark. - The University of the South men's lacrosse team defeated Hendrix College in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play, 13-9, Friday night from Young-Wise Memorial Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Hendrix got out to a 2-0 lead with 8:25 left in the opening quarter. After the Warriors won the ensuing faceoff,
Phelps Thomas forced the turnover to give the Purple and White back. Later,
Corbet Darden struck for his second goal of the year.
-That started a run where Sewanee scored the final three goals of the period to lead 4-2 after a quarter.
-Sewanee added two early goals in the second quarter by
Ashton Anton and
Luke Valentine to lead 6-2 with 13:42 left in the half.
-Leading 11-6 early in the final stanza, the Tigers saw strikes by
Zach Crain and
Devon Root.
-Hendrix did attempt a comeback, but the Purple and White secured the win on the road.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Luke Valentine tallied four goals to lead the Tigers on the evening.

Charlie Warren won 8-of-14 face offs and scooped up three ground balls.

Greg Ix (7-3) made nine saves for the Tigers in full time.
HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-Maximus LaMendola tallied six points on the night with five goals and an assist. Spencer Dorfneilsen also contributed a hat trick and two assists.
