HOW IT HAPPENED
-Leading 4-2 after a period, DePauw went on a scoring spree in the second quarter, netting six goals on 13 shots to lead 10-4 at the halftime break. The Indiana Tigers allowed Sewanee to just four shots in the second stanza.

-A defensive quarter, DePauw extended its lead to seven with a 12-5 advantage after three quarters.

-However, Sewanee began the comeback in the fourth quarter. The Purple Tigers saw back-to-back goals from Lizzie Chamberlin and Sally Herrington to cut the deficit to five goals, 12-7.

-After DePauw won the ensuing draw and a quick score by Caliegh Claar to make it 13-7 in favor of the visitors, Herrington's 40th goal of the season made it a 13-8 affair with 11 minutes left in regulation.

-That started a string of goals by the Purple and White, and they maintained possession for about a three-minute stretch. Chamberlin's 22nd goal of the year came from a free position to ake it 13-10 with nine minutes left in regulation.

-DePauw did add a goal with eight minutes remaining, but the home Tigers did not go away. Goals by Emma Burns and Chamberlin cut the deficit down to two, 14-12, with five minutes left in the game.

-Despite adding another goal by the visitors with 3:33 left in regulation, Sewanee took the following draw control, and Herrington's free-position shot made a 15-13 game with 2:39 left.

-The key was winning the draw controls, and that is what Sewanee did in the fourth quarter. Another was getting the fouls in the eight-meters, and Brooke Sigmon made it a one-goal game at the 1:57 mark with a free-position strike.

-30 seconds later, after Marlin Price controlled possession, the 43rd goal of the year for Burns was a big one, as that started the game over at 15 goals apiece with 1:27 left.

-DePauw would attempt to get two shots off late in the game, but the game was forced to overtime.

-Winning just five draw controls through three periods, Seawnee totaled eight in the final quarter of regulation and scored 10 times on 18 shots.

-Going to overtime, DePauw won the first draw control, and a Sewanee yellow card put the visitors with an extra man opportunity. After a big save by Sarah Powers following the infraction, Sewanee made a successful clear, but eventually turned the ball back over to DePauw.

-With a little over a minute before teams switched ends, and with the penalty dwindling down, Abby Keane netted the man-up, game-winning goal to give the visitors the victory.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Sally Herrington led the Tigers by matching a career-high five goals on seven shots. Three of her five strikes came in the final stanza of regulation. The freshman also won four draw controls and forced two turnovers.
