SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South baseball team returned home to Montgomery Field on Saturday to resume Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play with Millsaps College. The Tigers dropped a doubleheader, 11-8 and 5-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-The offense got out to a strong start for the visitors, as they led 9-0 after three innings.
-In the bottom of the fourth, after
Hunter Herndon led off the inning with a hit by pitch, he later came around and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Mike Lewishall.
-Sewanee tacked on five more runs to get the game back in striking distance, capped by a two-run single by
Charlie Teel.
-Adding a run on a double steal, seeing
Will Yarbro swiping home, in the sixth, the Tigers made it a 9-7 deficit.
-In the seventh, after a one-out solo home run by Lewishall, Sewanee, who was down 9-0, rallied to cut the deficit down to one run, 9-8.
-However, in the eighth, Millsaps sealed the victory with two insurance runs to win, 11-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-The winds were playing to right field for the majority of the day, and in the second game, all of the home runs went that direction. In the bottom of the first,
Hunter Herndon launched his third home run of the season to get the Tigers on the board first.
-In the second, the Majors followed with a two-run homer by Jackson Ware to give the Majors the lead for good.
-In the sixth, the visitors put the game away with a three-run home run.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Blake Pou went 2-for-3 with two walks in the opening game.
-
Mike Lewishall had a hit in each game with two RBI.
Hunter Herndon, in game two, went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
MILLSAPS KEY STATISTICS
-Austin Arceneaux went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with a run scored and an RBI in game one. He added a three-run home run in game two.
-Wil Wood (4-2) tossed the complete game in game two, allowing four hits and striking out five. In the opener, Stewart Bonnecaze and Nick Tarantion had six strikeouts each.

Sewanee will look to salvage the series finale on Sunday at noon.
