SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South women's lacrosse team suffered a 13-11 loss to Hope College (Mich.) on Tuesday night from Puett Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee started the scoring 16 seconds into the game. After
Marlin Price won the opening draw control,
Sally Herrington netted her 30th goal of the season from
Emma Burns.
-Tied at one, after a Price forced turnover and picked up a ground ball,
Brooke Sigmon found
Casey Thomsen's pass to reclaim the lead with 12:31 left in the opening stanza.
-Thomsen later made it 3-1 with under eight minutes left in the period, but the Flying Dutch scored the final two goals in the period to even the game at three 15 minutes into the game.
-Hope took its first lead of the game on a goal with 12:29 left in the second, but the Purple and White were able to even the score back up thanks to a man-down goal by
Lizzie Chamberlin, her 15th of the season.
-Late in the half, tied at five goals apiece, the Flying Dutch scored two quick goals to lead 7-5 at the break.
-Hope started the third stanza with a goal to lead 8-5, but later in the period, thanks to a yellow card by the visitors, Price picked up the goal on the man-up.
-That started the scoring spree for the Tigers. Chamberlain made it 8-7 with 5:10 left in the third, and
Morgan Boylan evened the score with 2:42 left.
-The contest ended the final period tied at nine, and it went back and forth. Hope scored the equalizing goal to make it an 11-11 score with six minutes remaining in regulation.
-From there, the Flying Dutch added two goals late to seal the deal.

Lizzie Chamberlin led the Tigers with a hat trick, while Sally Herring added two goals.

Casey Thomsen scored three points thanks to two goals and an assist, while
Marlin Price won nine draw controls and forced three turnovers.

Winnie Pajcic also had three forced turnovers and ground balls each.
HOPE KEY STATISTICS
-Kerrigan Brown scored four goals to lead the visitors, while Juli Kirkpatrick scored all three of her goals in the fourth quarter.
-Maddie Yates saved 11 shots for the Flying Dutch.
