SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South women's lacrosse team picked up a 14-10 victory over Kalamazoo College (Mich.), in a non-conference contest, Thursday night from Puett Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee got out to a 5-0 lead after one quarter and had a 9-0 advantage until Kalamazoo scored with 1:14 left in the half. 
-After 
Winnie Pajcic won the draw, Sewanee was given an opportunity to score from a free position. 
Sally Herrington did just that with 53 seconds left in the half. 
-However, the Hornets, after taking four shots and committing 15 turnovers in the first 30 minutes, came out strong in the second half and cut a 10-1 halftime deficit to 10-6 with 8:35 left in the third. 
-Kalamazoo made it a 13-10 deficit with 3:28 left in the fourth quarter, but Sewanee prevailed to seal the victory. 
-The Sewanee defense held Kalamazoo to 1-of-8 on clear attempts and 10-of-25 on the night. On offense, Sewanee cleared the ball 16 out of 18 times. 
QUEEN OF THE DRAW
-Entering Thursday's game tied for the school record for draw controls in a season, freshman 
Marlin Price took the first draw of the contest to shatter the record.
-Her second draw control with 8:00 remaining in the opening period saw her hit the century mark in the category, becoming the first Tiger player to hit triple digits in draw controls in program history. 
-Entering Thursday, she is ranked eighth in Division III in draws per game (8.91). However, she is tops in the nation in total draw controls. 
-In terms of the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), Price becomes the 12th player in the league to achieve 100 draw controls in a season. The SAA began play in the 2012-13 season. 
-Currently 10th all-time in the SAA, here is the top-10 list of most draws in a season.
