HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-Schedule for a seven-inning game, Sewanee got the offense on track in the bottom of the first. After a leadoff free pass by
Blake Pou and a steal,
Hunter Herndon laced a base hit back up the middle to get the Tigers on the board first.
-In the bottom of the third inning, the Tigers added three runs in the inning.
Charlie Teel recorded an RBI single thanks to another leadoff free pass by Pou.
-The Tigers made it a 3-0 score after a delayed double steal that saw Herndon score on the play.
-The inning was extended on a dropped fly error by the Comets, and the Tigers used another double steal to score
TJ Meyn.
-In the fourth, Sewanee batted around and scored four runs in the inning. Leading 6-0 and the bases loaded,

Jadon Fetrow had back-to-back walks to score in a run.
-The game was called in the bottom of the fifth after
Carson Rowland's RBI double and Meyn's base hit to third base.
-After the Comets had runners at second and third with two outs in the first, that would be the only time they would have runners on base for the game, as
Henry Collins retired the final 13 batters he faced.
-In the opener, Sewanee coaxed eight walks off of Olivet pitching, and the timing was impeccable on the base paths, too. The Tigers stole 10-of-11 bases on the day, led by
Hunter Herndon,
TJ Meyn,
Mikey Nardella and
Luke Short's two each.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-In the second game, also a seven-inning affair, the Comets got out to a roaring start with a two-run first inning, but the Tigers' bats were a lot louder in the bottom half. Scoring five in the inning, a
Charlie Teel base hit and a bases loaded walk by
Jadon Fetrow evened the score at two runs a piece.
-After a
Jonah Patton fielder's choice that gave Sewanee the lead,
Luke Short knocked a single through the right side for the 5-2 lead.
-Both offenses were held quiet until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Purple and White scored three times with two outs.
-After a
Blake Pou double,
Hunter Herndon followed with a double of his own to score Pou.
-
Dean Vencil, with runners on second and third, cleared the bases on a base knock to center field.
