MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The University of the South softball team suffered twice to Huntingdon College on Sunday afternoon, falling 7-1 and 8-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-Huntingdon got the scoring going on an RBI single in the bottom of the first and added a two-run double in the third to increase the lead to 3-0.
-Tacking on single runs in the fourth and fifth, the Hawks had a second two-run base knock in the sixth to make it 7-0 in favor of the home team.
-Sewanee did avoid the shutout in the seventh. After a leadoff double by
Alice Charboneau, she would later score thanks to
Eve Bournias reaching base on an error.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-In the second game, the Hawks picked up where they left off on offense. The Hawks scored two runs each in the first and second and three in the third to lead 7-0 after three innings.
-The game was forced into a run-rule win for the Hawks in the fifth thanks to an RBI single.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Alice Charboneau had three hits on the day, including two in the opening game of the twin bill.

Sam Dean and
Zoe Crockett each had hits for Sewanee on offense.

Michaela Walker (1-2) struck out four batters in her complete game in the opener.
HUNTINGDON KEY STATISTICS
-Natalie Ritchey scored three runs on the day, while Maddie Grace Hubbard had four hits and three RBI.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will next head to Columbus, Miss. for the Owls Invitational. The University of the South will take on the Mississippi University for Women and Covenant on Friday afternoon.
