HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Maroons got out to a 4-0 start in the first five minutes of the opening frame. Following a Sewanee timeout, Luke Valentine got the scoring start on an unassisted goal with 10 minutes left in the quarter.

-After Drew Perun took the faceoff on a violation, Sewanee went down the field and scored again on a Davis Gillenwater strike.

-Despite a Devon Root goal to make it 5-3 with less than three minutes to go in the opening quarter, the Maroons did not allow the Tigers to score the rest of the half, ending on a 5-0 run in the final 18 minutes of the half.

-Sewanee ended the drought in the fourth quarter on a man-up goal by Gillenwater thanks to a unnecessary roughness penalty.

-Roanoke is ranked 20th in the latest Division III poll, administered by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
