HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-After Sewanee struck the scoreboard firs on a Mike Lewishall base hit in the bottom of the first, not a lot of offense happened on either side.

-However, the defense came out for the Tigers in the third. After Eric Creech led off the inning with a base hit to the outfield, he was later picked off by Matt Munn. The sophomore recorded his second pick off in as many starts.

-Sewanee tacked on two runs in the sixth. After an Emmett DeScherer base knock to score Will Yarbro, DeScherer later came around on an error.

-Fontbonne avoided the shutout in the sevneth with a sacrifice fly.

-In the bottom of the seventh, the Purple Tigers posted four runs in the frame, capped by two runs scoring as Alden Wright reached on an error.

-After Sewanee added four runs in the seventh, the Tigers turned to the bullpen. Despite a three-run homer with two outs in the op of the ninth to make it a 7-6 score, Colby Shivers grounded out to end the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-In the night cap, the offense started with a bang, as Blake Pou went yard for the lead-off home run in the third.

-Sewanee tacked on two more runs on an RBI groundout by Pou and a RBI single by Hunter Herndon in the fourth.

-Fontbonne wiped out the lead quickly in the next half inning. A two-run single and an infield hit that scored a run evened the game at three runs apiece.

-At a stalemate until the sixth, Pou found lightning in his bat with a RBI double to score Luke Short

-Once again, the Griffins responded to tie the game again. In the seventh, an RBI double by Colby Shivers made it a 4-4 game going into the seventh inning stretch, where the see-saw battle continued. Mike Lewishall scored Will Yarbro, with one out, on a base hit to swing the lead back to the Purple Tigers, 5-4.

-After a shut-down inning by the Sewanee bullpen in the eighth, the Tigers had the lead in the ninth with three outs left to get. Following two outs and a two-out single, the Griffins evened the score again with a double off the right field fence.

-In the bottom of the ninth, looking to walk it off, the Tigers had runners at second and third with two outs, but a pop out forced the game to extra innings.

-After Henry Shields tossed a 1-2-3 inning, the Tigers' bats went back to work. However, with two outs, it came down to freshman Oliver Snell. He would get into one, sending it over the left field fence for the walk-off winner.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Coming in the eighth of game two for defensive purposes, freshman Oliver Snell took the advantage of the two plate appearances he had late. After earning a 10-pitch walk in the eighth, his next at bat was a loud one as a fly ball was sent over the left field fence for a walk-off home run.

-Blake Pou posted a 2-for-5 day at the plate, with both hits extra bases, including a homer and a double. Scoring a run, he also drove in three.
