SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South women's basketball team concluded the regular season with a 60-39 loss to Centre College in a Southern Athletic Association contest, Wednesday night inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After
Kayla Antoine led the game with a jump shot early, Centre scored 10 of the next 12 points.
-The Tigers got the score back to a one-possession game with a
Shay Conn jumper, but the Colonels' defense did not allow another point in the opening period, finishing on a 9-0 run.
-Centre pushed the lead to 18 at the break, 34-16.
SAA TOURNAMENT FIELD SET
-Sewanee will be the No. 8 seed in the 2023 SAA Women's Basketball Tournament, which starts this weekend with quarterfinal games.
-The Tigers will take on this Colonel squad, who locked up the No. 1 seed on Sunday.
-Other quarterfinal games include:
- No. 2 Rhodes vs. No. 7 Hendrix
- No. 3 Millsaps vs. No. 6 Birmingham-Southern
- No. 4 Berry vs. No. 5 Oglethorpe
-All games will take place on Sunday at the highest seed. Semifinals and championship games will take place on Feb. 25 and 26, respectively, at the highest remaining seed.

Olivia Falvey scored seven and grabbed six boards.

It is tournament time for women's basketball, as the University of the South heads to Danville, Ky. to take the regular season champions in the Colonels of Centre College for the second time this week. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT on Sunday from Alumni Gymnasium.
