HOW IT HAPPENED
-Sewanee opened the scoring after picking off a failed Transylvania clear. Luke Valentine scored the first goal of the season for the Purple Tigers.

-After winning the faceoff, Ashton Anton made it a 2-0 lead with nine minutes left in the opening frame.

-Transy took advantage of a Sewanee slashing penalty and made it a 2-1 lead. However, the Tigers countered on a man-up opportunity later in the period. Valentine scored on the man-up with four minutes remaining in the period.

-The Tigers made it a 4-1 lead after 15 minutes and added their fifth goal by Anton.

-Sewanee had a 6-2 halftime lead thanks to a Davis Gillenwater strike.

-Trailing 7-3 going into the final period, the Pioneers made it a 7-5 lead with two goals by Will Warner. However, a Charles Moran strike and a late goal by Will Wyckoff sealed the dub for Sewanee.

-In the sixth meeting all-time between the two schools, Sewanee picked up its third dub over Transylvania and snapped a three-game losing skid. The Tigers last defeated the Pioneers in 2018, also in Lexington, 13-3.
