The Tigers complete the semifinals of the ITA Cup

ROME, Ga. – Jordan Theron moved onto the finals of singles and Katherine Petty and Brooke Despriet fell to a University of Chicago team in the semifinals.

Theron played his semifinal match against Julian Wu from Middlebury College. He had a slower start to his match as they exchanged a few breaks of serve, and Theron found himself down 3-1. However, Theron won the next five games to take the first set, 6-3, and maintained his momentum as he won the second 6-2. Theron moves on to the finals as he faces Dean Kamenev from Emory for a rematch of their final match at the ITA Regional Championship. They will play for a national championship on Sunday at 10 a.m. in Rome, Ga.

Petty and Despriet played a tough team of Oliwia Mikos and Rena Lin in the semifinals. The Tigers lost 6-2, 6-0. Mikos and Lin went on to win the finals against Cristiani Matia and Olivia Soffer from Babson College, 6-1, 6-1.
