HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Vikings came out shooting the ball efficiently in the first eight minutes of play, dropping nine of their first 13 field goals. On the other side, the Tigers were limited to just 4-of-13 from the field.

-Sewanee prevailed from the cold start, outscoring Berry, 19-12 in a 7:30 span, but it was the home team that had the 36-31 lead at the break.

-The Vikings came out strong from the locker room, knocking down their first four field goals and went six of their first seven from the field. The hosts used a 15-0 run to push the lead to 20 points, 53-33, at the under-16 media timeout.

-Berry kept Sewanee in check from beyond the arc on Friday, holding the visitors to no 3-point field goals in 12 attempts. Leading the conference with a 38.5 percentage and ranked 25th in the country, the Tigers netted their first shot from beyond the arc with 11:25 left in the second half.

-Sewanee was able to cut the deficit from 25 to 13 at the end of the game, as the Tigers finished on a 16-4 run.

-Berry College, the reigning SAA Tournament Champions and the favorites to win the league in 2022-23, are receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com poll.
