Sewanee, Tenn: The University of the South Men's Soccer team improved to 2-0 after defeating Piedmont 2-0 on Saturday, September 3rd.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Sophomore
Will Hawgood got the Tigers on the board in the 22nd minute, finishing a pass from
Payne Gridley.
- This was Hawgood's second straight game with a goal, and second straight game winning goal.
- After an initial push from the visiting Lions, the Tigers dominated time of possession and outshot Piedmont 5-1 in the first half.

Zach Shunnarah put home a penalty kick in the 55th minute to double the Tiger's lead and put the game out of reach.

JP Furman posted his second shutout in as many games, recording one save on the night.
KEY SEWANEE STATS:
- The Sewanee defense put out another strong performance, only allowing four shots on the day.
- The Tigers outnumbered the Lions 10-2 in corner kicks on the day.
KEY PIEDMONT STATS:
- Goalkeeper Bobby Wood posted five saves.
- Jason Aussin took all four of the Lion's shots.
