Men's Soccer Falls 1-0 to #3 W&L

Lexington, Virginia: On Saturday, September 10th, The University of the South Men's Soccer fell to #3 Washington and Lee 1-0 in a hard fought match.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP: 
Washington and Lee (3-1-0) 1, Sewanee (2-1-0) 0

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- W&L came out firing, as the Generals put up 12 shots in the first half.
- W&L got up 1-0 with about 10 minutes left in the first half, with a strike to the lower corner.
- JP Furman recorded three saves in the first half.
- Grant Shepherd recorded the lone Sewanee shot of the first half, but it was blocked.
- The Sewanee defense held the Generals scoreless in the second half and Furman recorded three more saves.
- Tyler Cozzie fired a shot early in the second half but it was unable to find the net.

KEY SEWANEE STATISTICS:
- JP Furman finished with a game high six saves.
- Cozzie and Shepherd recorded both Sewanee shots.

KEY WASHINGTON AND LEE STATISTICS:
- Matteo Adler and Aa Gonzalez Sobrino each recorded three shots for the Generals.
- W&L out shot Sewanee 22-2
