Sewanne, Tenn: On Wednesday, September 14th, the University of the South Men's Soccer team defeated Emory 2-0.
Austin Miller and
Trevor Reichman found the back of the net for the Tigers.
INSIDE THE MATCH UP:
Sewanee (3-1-0) 2, Emory (1-2-3) 0.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The two teams started off at a fast pace, but no team was able to find the back of the net early.
- A physical half led to two yellow cards being given out to Sewanee. Emory would get two as well in the second half.
- With less than 10 minutes left in the first half,
Austin Miller launched a shot into the top corner to put the Tigers up 1-0 going into the break.
- Emory came out in the second half attacking, firing off eight shots.
- With 11 minutes left on the clock,
Trevor Reichman fired a shot into the lower corner off of a pass from
Payne Gridley to double the Sewanee lead.

JP Furman kept the visiting Eagles out of the net, with all four of his saves coming in the second half.
KEY SEWANEE STATISTICS:
- Reichman notched his second goal of the year, with Miller putting home his first of the year.
- Furman continued his strong season with four saves.

Zach Shunnarah continued to be an anchor on the defensive end, playing all 90 minutes.
KEY EMORY STATISTICS:
- Joe Beare led all players with three shots taken.
BREAKING THE DROUGHT:
The win marks the end of a 12 match losing streak to Emory, with the last win coming in 2004 in Sewanee.
