Men's Tennis Falls in NCAA Tournament

Box Score St. Louis, MO: The University of the South Men's Tennis team took on #10 Denison in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, May 14th in St. Louis, MO. After a hard fought match, the Tigers eventually fell to their opponents 5-2.

How It Happened: 

Sewanee got off to a strong start in doubles competition, which saw the Tigers take two out of three matches.

Peyton Erck and Quinn Wicklund dropped the first doubles match 8-3. 

Noah Holsclaw and Liam Baer got a hard fought 8-7 win in their match to get Sewanee on the board. 

Jackson Davis and Gil Weston defeated their opponents 8-4, to give the Tigers the 2-1 lead going in to singles play. 

In singles play, the Tigers fought hard but were unable to pull out the victory. Noah Holsclaw fell 7-5, 6-4, Peyton Erck fell 6-2, 7-5, Matt Barnett lost 6-4, 6-3, and Jackson Davis lost 6-3, 6-4.

Season Wrap Up:

The Tigers close the season at 14-12. The Tigers enjoyed an undefeated conference regular season, and claimed the SAA Tournament championship.
