HOW IT HAPPENED
-Centre had the bats going from the start, as Maddison Ellis was off to the races for an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the first.
-Sewanee had an opportunity to dent the scoreboard in the top of the third. After a leadoff walk by
Michaela Walker and a
Maggie Willis base knock,
Alice Charboneau laced a base hit to right field, but
Jenna Speer, who pinch ran for Walker, was gunned down at the plate to end the threat.
-The Colonels put the game away with four runs in the frame.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Peri Prestwood each tallied two hits for the Tigers. Prestwood had a double in the Tigers' setback.
CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Riley McCue posted a triple as she drove in an RBI and scored a run.
