SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South women's lacrosse team posted its fifth win of the 2022 campaign after taking down the reigning Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament Champions in St. Mary's College (Ind.), 16-9, Monday night from a chilly and foggy Puett Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers raced out to a 6-0 lead with 11:32 left in the half as
Hadley Meadows scored the first two goals fo the game.
-After a Sewanee yellow card that forced St. Mary's with a man-up opportunity, the Belles took advantage with the team's first goal of the game. However, it was the Purple Tigers with the 10-2 lead at the break.
-The Tigers forced the game to a running clock situation with a
Hattie Fogarty goal with 6:36 left in the third, but the Belles scored three straight goals to end that threat and trailed 13-6 after three quarters.
-Sewanee would win the contest by seven goals, but St. Mary's out-scored their hosts, 7-6, in the second half.

Hattie Fogarty led all scorers with eight points on six goals and two assists, while
Hadley Meadows posted a three-goal night.

Lizzie Chamberlin won three draw controls and finished with four goals and an assist.

Molly Morris saved 13 shots as she picked up her second win of the year (2-2).

-Erin Dotson went a perfect 3-of-3 in free position goals to lead the Belles.
