ROME, Ga. - The University of the South track and field teams opened the 2022 outdoor campaign on Saturday at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals from Valhalla Stadium on the campus of Berry College.

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS

Lexi Vanwinkle cleared 3.07 meters in the pole vault to set the school record in the event as she posted the mark on her second attempt. The senior cleared 2.77 meters on her second attempt before soaring past 2.92 meters on her first attempt.
-Vanwinkle improved Mary Matthews' 2009 record of 3.05 meters.

Jocelyn Covaney recorded a 1:12.96 in the first 400-meter hurdles of her collegiate career for third place overall. In the 100 hurdles, she timed 17.70 seconds.

Madison Sellers posted a 12:26.90 for third place in the 3,000 steeplechase, while
Brianna Fee posted a 2:31.94 in the 800 meters.

Charlotte Ganter clocked at 5:18.40 in the 1,500 meters, while
Merrit Newton posted a 20:33.81 in the 5K.
MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS

Jack Hagan timed a 16.38 in the 110 hurdles, while
Jeremiah Young threw 44.54 meters for eighth place in the javelin.

Travis Steele sprinted 11.50 seconds in the 100 meters and 27.14 in the 200.
