CONWAY, Ark. - The University of the South softball team dropped two decisions to Hendrix College in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) doubleheader, 8-1 and 6-2, Saturday afternoon from the Warrior Softball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-Sewanee started the game off on the right foot. After a Hendrix error right out of the gate to get
Sam Dean on base,
Eve Bournias earned a free pass to put two runners on.
Peri Prestwood moved the runners to second and third on a sac bunt, and
Sarah Wright brought Dean home on a sacrifice fly.
-However, the lead would not last for the Purple Tigers, as the Warriors used a three-run second and a two-run third to make it a 5-1 affair after three.
-The hosts ultimately put the game away with single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-Just like in game one, the Purple and White dented the scoreboard in the top of the first. With two runners on base, Wright brought home
Zoe Crockett thanks to a Hendrix error. Next,
Michaela Walker laced a double to score
Peri Prestwood to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
-The Warriors posted single runs in the third and fourth frames to even the score at two runs apiece. However, the Warriors scored the go-ahead run and added some insurance thanks to a three-run fifth.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Peri Prestwood recorded a base hit in both games of the twin bill, while
Sarah Wright posted a base knock and RBI in both games.

Michaela Walker added a double and RBI in game two, as seven of the nine batters each recorded a hit in the nightcap.
HENDRIX KEY STATISTICS
-Peyton Nance recorded two RBI and scored a run for the Warriors in game one, as Hailey Johnston allowed one unearned run in six innings with six punchouts to earn the win in the circle.
-Grace Bryant posted two doubles en route to a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate with two doubles and runs scored each and an RBI.
UP NEXT
