Sarah Wright has been selected as the SAA Softball Player of the Week after her performance in Sewanee's upset of No. 5 Birmingham-Southern College on Sunday.
The Coupeville, Wash. native posted a 2-for-3 day at the plate with a double, three RBI and two runs scored. However, it was Wright's second hit of the day that was the exclamation point. With two outs and runners on first and second, the junior sent the first pitch she saw over the left field fence for a three-run home run to even the game at five runs apiece in the bottom of the fifth.
