DANVILLE, Ky. - The University of the South women's basketball team were defeated by Centre College, in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) opener, 80-49, Saturday afternoon from Alumni Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Centre started the game with a 6-0 run in the first 2:30 of the game before
Kayla Antoine got on the board for the Purple and White.
-The Colonels used a 53.8% mark from the floor in the opening frame to sprint out to a 23-12 lead.
-Recording a 41-24 lead at the half, Centre knocked down 15-of-27 (55.6%) from the floor in the first 20 minutes and 29-of-51 (56.9%) in the game.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Off the bench,
Olivia Falvey recorded 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting and added three boards.

Kayla Antoine tallied 12 points with seven boards and three dimes.

Cydney Wright contributed nine points and three thefts on the day, while Failth Humphrey added eight points, five boards and two steals and blocks each.
CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Payton Herold went 5-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-3 from beyond the arc for 13 points and contributed six boards and four dimes.
-Natalie Duggins and Bailey Rucker each had 12 for the Colonels.
