SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South football team suffered a 63-14 defeat to Berry College, Saturday afternoon, from historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Berry scored on its first two drives of the game to take a 14-0 lead after one quarter of play.
-On the first play of the second quarter, Blake Hembree's pass was intercepted by
Kaleb Seay at the 50-yard-line and returned 25 yards.
-Thanks to a
Dagem Samuel 16-yard reception, the Tigers were in the red zone looking for the score. Two plays later,
Tripp Richardson found Samuel again in the endzone for the five-yard touchdown pass.
-After a Berry punt on its next possession, the Vikings defense came up strong, stopping Sewanee on a fourth down play at their own 38-yard-line. After the turnover on downs, Berry's Brandon Cade ran 25 yards for the touchdown to make it a 21-7 lead en route to a 35-7 halftime lead.
-Late in the game, thanks to multiple rushes by
Damerian Wigenton,
Chris Phillips found
Henry Arnall for a 22-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
-For the game, the Vikings scored on nine of their 13 drives.

Michael McGhee posted 46 yards on the ground, while
Damerian Wigenton had a strong second half with 51 rushing yards.
-Both
Tripp Richardson and
Chris Phillips had a passing score, and
Dagem Samuel and
Henry Arnall were on the receiving end of those scores.

Quinn Johnson had nine stops on the day, one for a loss, while
Puk Puk tallied 2.5 tackles for a loss. Additionally,
Kaleb Seay recorded an interception.
BERRY KEY STATISTICS
-Berry totaled 333 yards on the ground, led by Brandon Cade's 142 yards on the ground with two scores. Josh Rogers added 104 and two scores.
-Blake Hembree had three passing touchdowns on 11-of-23 for the day.
-Curtis Brown and Jacob Ray had seven tackles each.

The regular season concludes with a trip to San Antonio, Texas to face No. 5/6 Trinity University next Saturday.
